The Loch of Kinnordy RSPB reserve is a stone's throw away, and there are two Wildlife Nature reserves run by the Scottish Wildlife Trust: Loch of the Lowes and the Montrose Basin . If you are lucky you may see Ospreys hatching at Loch of the Lowes, and many sea birds, not to mention seals and otters, at the Montrose Basin.
There are also many woods to explore where you might spot red squirrels and deer and all kinds of fungi and flora.
Delightful small Scottish towns include Kirriemuir (birthplace of J M Barrie), Blairgowrie and Braemar , while for museums, concert halls and art galleries try Dundee and Perth .
